I’m an open minded traveler. I love embracing culture and seeing the faith of a people. I was raised in a good christian home with a strong emphasis on the priesthood, we read our scriptures daily, and the stories of my childhood are bible stories. As an adult I’m fascinated with Asia, Middle East, and Africa and world religions. I read the Bible, Book of Mormon, many different Pseudapigraphal, Apocryphal writings including the Dead sea scrolls. I recently read the much of the Kebra Nagast Ethiopian scriptures. I’m currently reading Josephus, but have nearly finished an English copy of the Koran (Qur’an).
As a traveler I seek out religious experiences and buildings. On my last trip I visited the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sofia, Khor Virap, and the 4th century Cross in Georgia. In my pursuits I have visited from Vatican city to Axum in search of the Ark of the Covenant. My favorite peaceful place on the planet is Bali. I do believe they have found their peace in part due to to their devout faith. It’s incredible to see a people with so many temples and such strong faith. I LOVE Jerusalem, Bethlehem and the holy land. The religious center of the dependents of Father Abraham’s faith. As well, I seek to visit the holy places of all faiths. Varanasi in India on the banks of the holy Ganges stands out in my mind as one of the most incredible cities and sites.
I’m not trying to hide the fact that I am the great grandson of Mormon Pioneers who left their homelands in search of religious freedoms in 1830-1840s from Sweden, Ireland, Channel Islands, and England. I embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ and seek after further light and knowledge.
Thanks for listening, I hope these stories and experiences I share are inspiring and ultimately lead you closer to God.
